Robert M. Magsino, M.D.
Gawad Alumni, or the Blessed Br. Arnould Reche FSC Distinguished Alumni Award, now on its fifth year, bestowed six awards to De La Salle Lipa's outstanding alumni was conferred to Dr. Robert M. Magsino, (Science, Technology and Research), HS '71 last April 4, 2013. DLSL's administrators, convened at the awarding ceremony at the Diokno Auditorium of Sen. Jose Diokno Hall.
Dr. Robert "Bobby" Magsino was born on September 11, 1954 at Jersey City, New Jersey. He graduated from De La Salle Lipa High School of Batch 1971 and a recipient of Bro. Henry Virgil Award. At DLSL, he became the Editor in Chief of Stallion, President, Confraternity of Christian Doctrine and a member of La Salle Debate Team. He finished his Doctor of Medicine at University of Sto. Tomas on March of 1979.
Dr Bobby is know to have a deep personal relationship with the Lord, He is a Marian person, thus, honors the name of our Blessed Mother as the Magsino's named their hospital Mary Mediatrix Medical Center. He is a profound devotee of Blessed Virgin Mary supporting the many projects of Archdiocese of Lipa. He has deep solitude for priests and nuns and shows untold constant gestures of love and dedication. E.g. attend to crisis situations, closely monitors their health thru regular visits especially the elders, with overflowing generosity and goodwill not only through his selfless medical services but as well as through his constant financial assistance.
In his term as the President of the Lipa City Medical Society, he worked together with Mayor Vilma Santos-Recto, CENRO and barangay chairmen for strategic planning for the Waste Management Program concerning the alarming number of Dengue, Hepatitis, Gastroenteritis and other environment-related diseases. This has resulted to the significant improvement of the health status of the community.
He has been awarded as the Most Outstanding Individual with Environment and Sanitation Projects for Component Society by he Philippine Medical Association. A partner of a formation house to rehabilitate person who are trapped in various addictions and welcome them in Mediatrix and coach them to start our clean living. He has the heart to help the poor. Thus, as the President of the Board for the Good Samaritan Foundation of Mediatrix, they had undertaken countless humanitarian endeavors to reach our indigent neighbors who are in need of expert medical care and still continue to reach more.
He has been a proponent and still act as one in advancing health related events for civic groups, charitable organizations, philanthropic activities and social initiatives by the provincial and local government. Thus, enduring impression on him as dedicated, compassionate and a very professional individual. He is the founder and the President of Private Hospital Association of Lipa City which aims to unite hospital owners to address health concerns which help the local government and the community.
