Br. Armin Luistro FSC

Gawad Alumni, or the Blessed Br. Arnould Reche FSC Distinguished Alumni Award, on its fifth year, bestowed six awards to De La Salle Lipa's outstanding alumni.  Br. Armin Luistro (education category), HS '77, a La Salle Brother serving as the Secretary of the Department of Education,  is one of the awardees.  Families, friends, and DLSL's administrators, convened at the awarding ceremony held April 4, 2013 at the Diokno Auditorium of Sen. Jose Diokno Hall.

He has been a the forefront of ensuring the vitality of the Lasallian mission in the Philippines by opening it to wider participation of Lasallian partners through Philippine District Synod and Convocation.

​

As Brother Visitor, he led the community of Brothers to make a public stand in favor of good governance.  As DepEd Secretary, his efforts to improve the curriculum, delivery of educational services and participation of private sectors in improving the public schools education are laudable.

​

After completing his appointment as DepEd Secretary, Br. Armin, FSC is now the President of De La Salle Philippines effective July 1, 2017.
